Description
Join a storyteller to hear formerly enslaved woman Eliza Gwinn's story of escape to freedom in 1862 and her life with her husband Dunmore in Georgetown, Washington, DC. After they freed themselves, they set up a candy shop and took in washing. Please bring a chair for this stationary event.
Accessible parking is available on-site at the Moncure Conway House. General parking is available across the street at Falmouth Beach, 401 River Road, Falmouth, VA 22405. Please use caution when crossing the street.
Please note: There will be no access to the interior of the historic Moncure Conway house during this event.
