Explore the meditative process of woodblock printmaking in this beginners workshop led by local artist Karina Andrews of OysterHillPress. We will learn the basics of woodblock printmaking including composition, image transfer, carving, ink mixing, block registration and hand printing techniques in an encouraging and fun group setting. Students leave with a two-sided, hand-carved woodblock, their own miniature registration board, and 2-5 handmade prints featuring Haystack Rock, reflecting each participant’s individual style and experience during the Stormy Weather Arts Festival. Workshop is geared towards beginners but all skill levels are welcome.
