Description

Play with different watercolor painting techniques with local artist Karina Andrews of the TinyLittleSkies project. Get comfortable with the process as you paint miniature watercolor landscapes with a focus on the stormy (hopefully sunny!) skies of Cannon Beach. Weather permitting, students will venture outside to snap reference photos and make observations before heading back inside to paint. Students will learn about composition and watercolor painting techniques while discussing art, life and the act of observervation while in an encouraging group setting. Each student will create 2-5 watercolor paintings reflecting each participant’s individual style and experience during the Stormy Weather Arts Festival. Workshop geared towards beginners.

Materials included for students:
Watercolor paper, small sample of watercolor paints

Materials for student use during the workshop:
Variety of paintbrushes, additional watercolor paints

Complimentary coffee for the brushstrokes and Puffin wine for the applause!
