Description

February is Jewish Disabilities Awareness, Acceptance, and Inclusion Month, and to celebrate, we’ll be joined by Gesher Jewish Day School teacher Nicholas May to read “I Talk Like a River,” and share his experience with stuttering. Then, we’ll visit the Museum to learn about other disabled Jewish Washingtonians and wrap up with songs and dance that celebrate everyone and every body.

Join us to read stories, sing songs, and do crafts and activities for children under 5 and their caregivers. Each program features a different theme and book suited for children of all backgrounds as they learn about themselves and the world around them.

Presented in partnership with Bender JCC, Edlavitch DCJCC, Pozez JCC and PJ Library.

Capital Jewish Museum

The Capital Jewish Museum explores the Jewish experience in the national capital region and inspires visitors to connect, reflect, and act—connect personally and collectively, reflect on the relevance of the past to today, and act on behalf of their communities and values. With its experimental spirit, the Museum connects the past to the present through thought-provoking exhibitions, dynamic programming, and creative public experiences. The Community Action Lab invites visitors to engage through hands on-activities, resources, workshops, games, and more.
