We are thrilled to invite you to a special celebration on Sunday February 16th at the Rainbow Play Cafe as Ana Santiago, a Rainbow mom originally from Brazil, will be reading in Portuguese her self-published book Seja lá ou acolá - One side or the other.
This book celebrates two cousins and much longing between them. One lived in the north of the planet and the other in the south, when the construction of a noisy wooden staircase connected the two hemispheres. Imagine that!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Seja lá ou acolá - One side or the other - is a self-published book that celebrates two cousins and much longing between them. One lived in the north of the planet and the other in the south, when the construction of a noisy wooden staircase connected the two hemispheres. Imagine that! And with so much climbing up and down... Guess what happened?
Well, a story between two worlds, which the author knows well since she was born and raised in Brazil, was the way she found to put her first children’s book out there. The narrative also has a lot to do with her daughter and cousin, who dreamed about a staircase as a way to overcome the distance between them. It looks familiar, eh?! So, the story sure resonates with many of our little neighbors, who either come from somewhere else or were born here but have their roots and loved ones from the other side of the equator.
Beautifully illustrated by @marikamache, the book captures the sense of here and there.
From readers’ feedback, this book has the power of bringing families together, even living miles away.

A narrativa tem muito da experiência vivida entre sua filha e prima, que foi quem um dia sonhou com uma escada como forma de driblar a distância entre elas.
