This interactive mah jongg strategy class is designed for players who have completed beginner lessons with Jill/the Mahjongg Gallery OR have been playing for at least a year and are comfortable with the flow of the game.
Two tables of four, each with a private instructor
We’ll focus on improving hand selection, reading the card more efficiently, making stronger Charleston decisions, recognizing when to change direction, and balancing offensive and defensive play. Through guided examples and discussion, participants will build confidence, sharpen their decision-making, and develop a more thoughtful approach to every game. We will also teach you how to play Siamese Mahjongg, a fun version that requires only two people!

We are patient, kind instructors who love to play and teach Mah Jongg. Although based in Reading, MA, we are now teaching folks from all of the surrounding towns. Our goal is to teach you the game, strategy, rules, best practices, and table etiquette while meeting new people and making new friends.
