Summer Camp at the Garden 2023

 

Summer fun is blooming at the Garden! Our nature camps are dedicated to connecting kids with nature. These day camps for kids aged 4-12 offer a week full of nature crafts, games, and explorations led by one of our expert Garden Guides. Space is limited. Reserve your spot today.

  • June 5-9: Gardening A-Z, Ages 4-5 (Half Day, 9 am-12 pm)
  • SOLD OUT - June 12-16: Garden Sprouts, Ages 6-9 (Full Day, 9 am-3 pm)
  • SOLD OUT - June 19-23: Puzzling Pollinators, Ages 6-9 (Full Day, 9 am-3 pm)
  • June 26-30: Garden Adventurers, Ages 10-12 (Full Day, 9 am-3 pm)
  • July 10-14: Sense of Discovery, Ages 4-5 (Half Day, 9 am-12 pm)
  • July 17-21: Garden Sprouts, Ages 6-9 (Full Day, 9 am-3 pm)

Cost per Week:

  • Half Day, 9 am-12 pm: $225 MBG Members/$250 Non-Members
  • Full Day, 9 am-3 pm: $270 MBG Members/$300 Non-Members

 

Camp Descriptions:

 

Gardening A-Z

Ages 4-5

June 5-9, 9 am-12 pm

Kick off summer at the Garden digging into crafts and exploring from A to Z! From Buzzing Bees to Fantastic Flowers and Wiggly Worms, by the end of the week, you will be a G-A-R-D-E-N-E-R!

$225 MBG Members/$250 Non-Members

 

Garden Sprouts

Ages 6-9

June 12-16, 9 am-3 pm

Roots, petals, and fruits, oh my! If your little one has a green thumb or loves the outdoors this camp is for them. Each day, campers will explore the Garden and see what it takes to make the garden grow. Campers will get to participate in garden projects and leave camp with the material & know-how to start their own green space at home.  (The same camp will be repeated July 17-21.)

Puzzling Pollinators

Ages 6-9

June 19-23, 9 am-3 pm

Curious about birds, bats, butterflies, & bees? Campers will learn the ins & out of pollinators during National Pollinator Week through games, crafts, & activities. Join us to unfold the mysteries of these puzzling pollinators!  

$270 MBG Members/$300 Non-Members

 

Garden Adventurers

Ages 10-12

June 26-30, 9 am-3 pm

Climb, wade, explore, splash, and get your hands dirty while creating wonderful memories and adventures at the Garden. Each day campers will experience different parts of the  Garden on their guided treks.

Sense of Discovery

Ages 4-5

July 10-14, 9 am-12 pm

Use your senses to discover the wonder of the natural world. See what it takes to grow a flower, listen to the world around you, feel the textures of nature, taste a rainbow of flavors, and learn why smells are so important. Who NOSE what else you will learn.

Garden Sprouts

Ages 6-9

July 17-21, 9 am-3 pm

Summer Camp Policies and General Information:

REGISTRATION DEADLINE

The enrollment deadline for each camp is two weeks before camp begins. Class size is limited, so register as soon as possible. Camps subject to being canceled due to low enrollment.

 

CANCELLATION POLICY

50% refund if canceled two weeks in advance. No refund if canceled less than two weeks before the first day of camp. Camps are subject to cancellation due to developing Covid restrictions. If this occurs, full refunds will be issued.  

 

WHAT TO BRING

Half day (9 am-12 pm) campers will have snacks provided. They may wish to bring a reusable water bottle, sunscreen, and insect repellant.  

 

Full day (9 am-3 pm) campers will need to bring a sack lunch and a reusable water bottle. They will be outside for most of the day so they may also wish to bring sunscreen and insect repellent. A snack will be provided.

 

HEALTH GUIDELINES

All campers must follow the most up-to-date health department directive, mask mandate, and other government guidelines, which may include but are not limited to wearing a mask, social distancing, and daily temperature checks. If your child is feeling ill or has been exposed to someone with Covid, please keep them at home. Camps are subject to cancellation due to developing Covid restrictions.  If this occurs, full refunds will be issued.  

 

DROP-OFF & PICK-UP POLICY

Drop-off begins at 8:50 am, and pick-up ends at 3:10 pm. Please be sure to sign your child in & out on the roster each day. Due to our staff’s busy schedule at this time of year, please understand that there will be no childcare provided before or after camp. Early drop-offs and late pick-ups will be subject to a fee of $5 per minute for the first five minutes and $1 per additional minute. Your child will not be able to attend camp until this fee is paid in full. Please inform any other authorized persons of this policy, as you will be responsible for their compliance. Before and aftercare is not provided. Children may not be dropped off earlier than 10 minutes before the camp start time and must be picked up no later than 10 minutes after the camp ends.
