CAMP DESCRIPTIONS:

Around the World in Five Days

Ages 6-9

June 8-12, 9 am-3 pm

Pack your imagination—this week we’re traveling the globe! Each day, campers “visit” a new part of the world through hands-on activities with garden exploration, games and art.  No passports required—just curiosity and a sense of adventure!

Art in Nature

Ages 6-9

June 15-19, 9 am-3 pm

Each day, campers discover new plants, colors, textures, and patterns while learning how nature shapes art. Through guided walks, observation and imaginative prompts, children create their own masterpieces from watercolor and natural dyes to clay, collage, and eco-friendly crafts. Along the way, they develop curiosity, confidence, and a deeper appreciation for the living world.

Mythbusters

Ages 6-9

June 22-26, 9 am-3 pm

In this curiosity-powered camp, young investigators put common nature myths to the test and discover the real science behind some of the garden’s most surprising stories. Each day, campers explore different parts of the garden—digging into soil mysteries, observing pollinators up close, investigating plants and learning how animals and ecosystems really work.

Things with Wings

Ages 6-9

9 am-3 pm

This week will fly by as your camper learns about all of nature's creatures that have wings. Bees, birds, butterflies, bats OH MY! This week we will soar into crafts, games and garden exploration all focusing on all of our winged neighbors.

Eco Engineer

 Ages 10-12

July 20-24, 9 am-3 pm

Calling all problem-solvers, nature lovers, and creative thinkers! Campers will explore the incredible systems that make our planet work—and design innovative solutions to protect them. Set in the living laboratory of the botanic garden, this hands-on camp blends science, engineering, and environmental stewardship.

Wildlife Safari

 Ages 6-9

July 27-July 31, 9 am-3 pm

Adventure is closer than you think—right in our backyard and yours.  At Backyard Wildlife Safari Camp, young explorers will discover the incredible creatures that live just outside their doors. From tiny insects to hopping frogs and visiting birds, campers will learn to observe, protect, and celebrate the wildlife around them.
