Description

You are signing your teen aged young adult to attend and learn drone usage  up to the professional level. If your teen is 16 or older, they will be prepared to pass the 107 commercial drone license at our Youngwood location*. This license enables young adults earn an income flying drones safely, using the information learned in these sessions.

Sessions will also prepare students who are not yet 16 to legally fly for enjoyment. A variety of drone makers will be used to help students understand what to look for when purchasing a drone.  Educators from a wide variety of industries will be teaching from their perspective. The program will be verbally, in person, by educators and provide website connectivity for each student to continue learning at home.

Video editing will also be a part of the workshop experience. We discuss different programs available and their advantages.   '

Your young adult's success is our success. We look forward to providing each emerging adult the opportunity to have fun while earning a living.

Fees are nonrefundable

If your young adult would like to participate in 3D Print workshops, that is a separate signup.

*some special events will take us out of Youngwood. Ride sharing may be available.

River Art Works

River Art Works is a nonprofit organization that was established in 2018 in order to encourage family sustainable incomes for the creatives in the Westmoreland County, PA region. The overall goal is to build a sustainable art destination in the Laurel Highlands Mountains.

To begin small, we developed ArtTEK for TEENS and the Greater Westmoreland Arts Coalition. ArtTEK for TEENS helps creative-minded-people to cross over the technology divide by offering creative educational solutions such as 3D Print, Drone and Drone Art with video editing, and Hologram workshops.

Greater Westmoreland Arts Coalition first step toward meeting a goal to strengthen the arts through solidarity, was to build a website that features regional artists, phonebook style. A single list of available-to-hire talent in Westmoreland County.

We are thrilled that you are joining our effort to gather artists and art lovers in one spot on May 3rd. We hope to hear a lot of loud laughter and cheering!

Consider helping River Art Works strengthen the local arts!  Be it a donation or volunteering, THANK YOU!
