Description

Summer in the city!  Tour of Troy’s Prospect Park.  Tour will meet in the pavilion in Prospect Park.

When the heat of the city closed in on the residents of Troy, they left for Mount Ida and Troy’s Prospect Park.  Designed by Garnett Douglass Baltimore, first black graduate of RPI, Prospect Park has been a welcoming oasis for more than 100 years. We will explore the history of the park, from when the Warren and Vail families built their “cottages” on the hill, to the Wesley Bintz designed above ground pool.  All of this and spectacular views of the Hudson Valley from the summit.

  • Please Note:
  • Tour will meet in the pavilion in Prospect Park.
  • New! Admission to the museum is now included in the cost of the walking tours. Tickets are $20 per person/$15 HCM Members. Children age 17 and under free.
