Participate in painting on Rocky Neck as a part of Culture Splash!
Thursday, July 30, 2026 | 3pm-7pm
KID’S EVENT WITH CAPE ANN ART HAVEN
4-6 pm Come create plein air pastels on the deck at the Ice Cream Gallery, 39 Rocky Neck Ave, Gloucester, MA
All supplies provided by Art Haven!
This is a not-a-drop-off event, Parent supervision is required.
ARTISTS: What you need to know
3pm Artist Check-in at Rocky Neck Art Colony Cultural Center, 6 Wonson St, Gloucester, MA
All artists must check in to have their canvases stamped and to pick up painting labels.4pm-6pm | Artists Paint (may begin anytime after 3pm checkin)
6pm- 6:30pm Artists return to Madfish Wharf for display and judging. (If it is raining, this will be moved inside at the Rocky Neck Cultural Center, where you checked in 6 Wonson St)
Artists will only display one painting, completed during the event, must be framed, labeled and on your easel to be entered into competition. No additional works will be displayed.
Judging from 6:30-6:45 and winners will be announced at 6:45pm, with an awards presentation by Rocky Neck Art Colony.All work may be for sale by artist!
Parking
There is street parking across Rocky Neck and a municipal lot at the entrance of Rocky Neck.
Restrooms available at the Rocky Neck Cultural Center.
By registering for Cape Ann Plein Air, participants grant permission for photographs of themselves and their artwork to be used by Cape Ann Plein Air in online and print publications, promotional materials, social media, and event communications.
