Description
Join us on May 16 for Super Saturday: Abstract Watercolors, a hands-on celebration of AAPI Month and the Memphis College of Art, inspired by Memphis-based artist Kong Wee Pang—whose striking abstract works have been featured in the MCA Gallery.
Young artists will experiment with watercolor, pipettes, and paper to create expressive, fluid compositions, just like Kong Wee Pang. By dropping and blending colors in unexpected ways, participants will discover how motion, flow, and spontaneity can be powerful tools in abstract artmaking.
This activity celebrates artistic freedom, cultural expression, and the creative legacy of Memphis artists. Ideal for ages 5–12. All materials provided.
Registration is required. Space is limited—reserve your spot early!
Major annual support for Museum Education is provided by the Windgate Foundation, City of Memphis, First Horizon Foundation, Tennessee Arts Commission, National Endowment for the Arts, ARTSmemphis, and the Urban Child Institute.
