Description
Join us for Super Saturday: Felt Quilts, a fun-filled, hands-on artmaking experience inspired by 'Salt and Spirit: Black Quilters in the American South'. On this special day—just before the exhibition closes—young artists will explore quilting traditions and create an 8x8 inch “mini quilt” of their own using felt, paper, scissors, stencils, and glue. Drawing from symbolic patterns found in the exhibition, children can cut strips, triangles, or shapes from soft felt and layer them onto cardstock to build a unique, colorful design that’s full of personal meaning.
This drop-in program is free with registration and open to all ages, but especially ideal for families with children ages 5–12. All materials provided.
