Portland Observatory
138 Congress StreetIn the spirit of April Fool’s Day Greater Portland Landmarks invites you to enjoy Tall Tales From the Tower. This new guided mini tour of the Observatory is patterned on a popular segment of the NPR program ‘Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me.’
Attendees will listen to three short stories on their way to the top. Two will be made up and one will be true. If the group chooses the correct story, they will proceed to the top. If they do not, well, they will just have to wait and see what happens. Each guided tour is approximately 25 minutes and includes plenty of time at the top to enjoy a view of Portland at night. Remember – the Observatory is not heated so please dress warmly. Masks are required regardless of vaccination status.
Each tour limited to 8 people. The guided tours will leave every half hour starting at 5:30 pm. Advanced tickets required. Only canceled reservations will be available for walk-ins.
