TAM Summer Talks Presents Suzanne Lasseter and "Tales That Travel: Stories Across Culture, Time and Tucson"

Step into an afternoon of storytelling that spans cultures, generations, and lived experiences as master storytellers Susanne brings a vibrant collection of tales to life. From timeless folktales to personal family stories and moments from Arizona’s past, this presentation weaves together humor, wisdom, and history in a way that is both entertaining and thought-provoking. Audiences will journey from a Japanese tale exploring compassion and perspective, to an Eastern European story about fairness and clever justice, to heartfelt and humorous recollections of growing up in another era. The program also includes traditional folklore from around the world, lighthearted stories of life’s early missteps, and a powerful historical account of the 1782 Apache attack on the Tucson Presidio—bringing local history to life through vivid storytelling. With warmth, humor, and expressive performance, Susanne and Jean invite guests of all ages to experience the enduring power of storytelling—where every tale offers a lesson, a laugh, or a glimpse into another time and place.
