Description

Join the Vancouver Maritime Museum and Adventure Canada for a special evening celebrating Arctic stories, exploration, and the enduring legacy of the St. Roch—featuring acclaimed Canadian writer, explorer, and storyteller Dr. James Raffan.

The evening will begin with a very special announcement from Adventure Canada and the Vancouver Maritime Museum, revealing an exciting new chapter inspired by the journeys of the St. Roch and the Arctic stories connected to the vessel.

We’re keeping the details under wraps for now—but if you’re interested in the Arctic, expedition travel, the St. Roch, or the future of the Vancouver Maritime Museum, this is an announcement you’ll want to hear first-hand.

Following the announcement, Dr. James Raffan will take audiences on an unforgettable journey through the Arctic.

Drawing on decades of travel throughout the circumpolar world, Raffan shares remarkable encounters, surprising discoveries, and enduring stories of the people, landscapes, and wildlife that define this extraordinary region in changing times.

Through vivid storytelling, stunning images, humour, and personal insight, Telling Tales from Arctic Trails explores what the Arctic can teach us about resilience, imagination, reconciliation, and our relationship with the land.

From remote northern landscapes and waterways to the people and communities who call the Arctic home, Raffan brings one of the world’s most compelling frontiers vividly to life—inviting audiences to see the North, and our relationship with it, with fresh eyes..
