Description

TENDRILS, Spring Concert of Dance

TENDRILS, the spring offering of Wellspring/Cori Terry & Dancers for its 2023/24 season, is a collaboration between Wellspring choreographers Cori Terry, Marisa Bianan, and Angel Sutton, Wellspring company dancers, guest dance artist Austin Panavong, and composers and musicians extraordinaire Carolyn Koebel (percussion), Cori Somers (violin), and Laurie Jarski (cello).   Months in the making, this full-length evening of works includes suspended sets and lighting design by Sam Snow, and costumes by Patricia Plasko.

Originally conceived as an ode to connection/disconnection with the natural world, it also encompasses connection/disconnection to each other.  The show will run for a continuous hour without an intermission and includes three group works, a quartet, a trio, and highlights a solo specially choreographed by Cori Terry for the dynamic and expressive Marisa Bianan, to a handpan, violin and cello piece.

The series opens on Friday, May 17th with a special opening night reception with food, drinks, and music by Jordan Hamilton. Shows run at 8 pm on Friday and Saturday (May 18th), and 2 pm on Sunday (May 19th). Tickets go on sale Monday, April 15th and can be found at wellspringdance.org or by calling 269-342-4354.
