Description
The Jewel Awards serve to publicly recognize individuals who act as shining "jewels" in the community. These are individuals who, like jewels, are hard in their commitment to community action, and yet their actions have an aesthetic quality that enables them to stand out in the eyes of others. The honor targets the everyday person who demonstrates "rare" acts of service that positively transforms others in their sphere of influence.
