A Takeover of The Indiana Theater
The Indiana Theater is alive and well thank you very much! It continues to offer great concerts and movie screenings. The Artists Hand will do a "takeover" of this venerable movie house for our followers and friends, and, ANYONE ELSE ! That's right. The kind folks at the historic vaudeville house that was quickly transformed to a cinema have invited us to make our own show. And so...
Invite your friends and join us for an evening of art that moves. Shadows and light on the screen represent our deepest, and most trivial, humanity.

LOVING VINCENT
7:00 Friday, May 9th at The Indiana Theater
LOCALLY AFFILIATED FILM-MAKERS have made some awesome short works and we want to share them.
Some cultural/historical experts have said that film is THE artform of the 20th century for its combination of innovative technique, cultural impact, global reach and accessibility. It's certainly moving (all puns intentional). By "taking over" the Indiana Theater we get to invite our friends and our community to a visual PARTY using shadow-play to look at our shared humanity. It's too early to tell you what's gathering in the "shorts" collection.
For our FEATURE we want you to join us in watching an amazing feat of artistry from 2017.
The film LOVING VINCENT was shot with live actors, and then EVERY FRAME was hand painted in VanGogh's impressionist style to create an animated film. (rotoscoping technology). The film premiered at the 2017 Annecy International Animated Film Festival. It won Best Animated Feature Film Award at the 30th European Film Awards in Berlin and was nominated for Best Animated Feature at the 90th Academy Awards. So come view our locally sourced Art Films curated by your favorite gallery on Philadelphia Street. And stick around for our feature film. We'll provide some popcorn, you provide the enthusiastic "heck yeah!" for a full night of cinematic joy.
