Beyond the Fairways: 30+ Years of The Masters & The Wisconsin Golf Story — From Hidden Gems to Global Destination
Gary D’Amato has covered golf in Wisconsin since 1980, first for the Racine Journal Times and then for 26 years at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, before joining Wisconsin.Golf and Killarney Golf Media in 2018. He has covered more than 75 major championships, including every Masters Tournament since 1993, along with 11 Olympic Games and five Ryder Cups. A three-time Wisconsin Sportswriter of the Year, D’Amato was inducted into the Wisconsin Golf Hall of Fame in 2017 — one of only three writers ever enshrined. He’ll share stories from three decades covering the Masters and look at how Wisconsin grew into one of the country’s great golf destinations.
The Bend Sessions Community Lecture Series runs from August 10th through November 17th and is a FREE event open to the public, however registration is requested.

The Bend is an experience venue in downtown West Bend, WI. Built in 1929 as a Vaudeville theatre building, The Bend was restored by the nonprofit organization Historic West Bend Theatre Inc in 2020.
