Join us at The Bend Theater on Saturday, June 6 at 7:00 PM for a special Micro Film Festival featuring five original short films created by talented film students from UW-Milwaukee. Showcasing a variety of creative voices and storytelling styles, this evening highlights the next generation of filmmakers.

Adding a hometown connection to the program, one of the featured films was filmed right here at The Bend Theater! Admission is free, but advanced registration is required to reserve your seat.

Film titles include:
Good Service – Director Leah Nolte
A long-time server tries to quit his diner job, but when his zany manager surprises him with a new trainee, pranks and hijinks ensue. 

Under Paint – Director: Miranda Manghera
With the possibility of a big break, Greg, an artist who is doubtful of his abilities, encounters an unidentified figure, distracting him from work.

Emuna – Director: Kate Seymour
In a land where the people are stuck in an endless dead season; a young woman discovers that faith in the dark will lead to restoration. 

Black Powder Confetti – Director: Emmie Kuzulka
Past flames Eboni and Jay confront lingering feelings and unresolved disagreements when reunited at their friend's childhood cottage.

The Glamorous Life – Director: Ava Kahut
A rising pop star’s life unravels as the pressures of fame, her management team, and online criticism come crashing down.

A short Q&A will follow after all films have played.

The Bend is an experience venue in downtown West Bend, WI. Built in 1929 as a Vaudeville theatre building, The Bend was restored by the nonprofit organization Historic West Bend Theatre Inc in 2020.
