The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas
A musical comedy starring Burt Reynolds and Dolly Parton, based on the hit Broadway musical.
Miss Mona (Parton) runs the Chicken Ranch, a good-natured, long-running brothel just outside a small Texas town. An open secret tolerated and even fondly regarded by the locals for decades. She's in a low-key romance with the town's affable sheriff, Ed Earl Dodd (Reynolds), who's long looked the other way.
It's a breezy, tongue-in-cheek film, more warm nostalgia and toe-tapping songs (like "I Will Always Love You," originally from this show) and carried by the chemistry between Reynolds and Parton with a colorful supporting cast including Dom DeLuise as Thorpe.
