The Riverside originated in Southern California where founding member, Jacob Jeanson (songwriter & guitar), was attending Westmont College in 2012. In his senior year, the band formed in hopes of winning Santa Barbara’s battle of the bands. As an energetic and engaging folk band with foot-stomping musical companions, the group was able to win the competition and release their first album with the winnings.
In the following years, Jake would go on to grow in tasteful and intentional songwriting; a nostalgic yet refreshing charm that leads listeners across a grand frontier of warm and beautiful scenery. In the process, he met his now long-time friends and band mates Kristen Posey (cello, harp, vocal harmony) and Chase Fierro (fiddle, mandolin, vocal harmony), whose talent and charm make The Riverside what it is today.
The trio swiftly began touring throughout theaters, venues, and festivals across the United States, but found a home playing intimate house shows in backyards and living rooms. Frequently collaborating with additional friends while touring, the group aims to create a magical and organic vibe regardless of the location of the night’s lineup of instruments and voices. The atmosphere the group creates is undeniably compelling, with the band often singing and playing around a single old fashioned microphone , seamlessly blending the musical composition of their harmonies and instruments.
Since 2012, The Riverside has released 8 homegrown records and multiple EP’s, with more songs and albums in the works.
Opening for The Riverside is Casper’s own Olivia Wilson. A 16 year old singer-songwriter, Livvy’s pop style is building her a name within the Wyoming music community. After years of songwriting, Olivia continues to be inspired by stories and experiences, by people and their need to find connection in music.
The Details: Bloomery gates open at 6:00 p.m. The show begins at 7:00 p.m. with Olivia Wilson and at 7:45 with Riverside.
Local cuisine will be available along with Wyoming-made craft beer. Small coolers are also allowed.
Bring a lawn chair and appropriate clothing for Wyoming’s quickly changing weather.
Tickets are non-refundable. Pets are not allowed. All guest ages 3 and up must have a General Admission Ticket for entry. Children 2 and under are admitted free. Please plan accordingly when purchasing tickets.
The Bloomery is a family farm that lies just west of Casper, Wyoming. We produce field grown seasonal flowers while continually striving to learn the best ways to care for the soil, the abundant wildlife, and the native vegetation.
