Frog City Cafe & DT Productions present an electrifying double-bill featuring The Boom Booms and Mivule.

Headliners The Boom Booms are a band of brothers known for their genre-defying sound — blending folk, reggae, rock, latin, highlife, soul, funk and pop into an upbeat, high-energy live show that has earned them a devoted following since 2008. With four albums released, multiple award wins, international touring (including across Latin America and Europe), and a reputation for unforgettable performances, they bring pure celebration to every stage.

Opening the night is Mivule, an 8-piece Afro Reggae band based in Vancouver, BC. Fusing Reggae, Afrobeat and Dub in both English and Luganda, Mivule delivers infectious rhythms and heartfelt lyrics that move both body and spirit. Fronted by South Sudanese/Ugandan singer-songwriter Brian Broda, the band’s music carries powerful themes of social justice, love and peace.

Expect a night of global grooves, powerful energy, and music that gets you on your feet.

The Boom Booms

The Boom Booms are a band of brothers known for their unmistakable sound and one-of-a-kind live show. Blending folk, reggae, rock, latin, highlife, soul, funk and pop, their music is upbeat, uplifting, and driven by heart and good vibes. This is not music for standing still — it’s for people who want to let loose and have a great time.

Since forming in 2008, The Boom Booms have played countless shows for thousands of fans, building a reputation as a must-see live act. Over the years they have released four albums, won awards, had videos broadcast on television, and earned radio play across the country. Beyond the stage, they’ve hosted beloved block parties, raised money for charity, and even launched their own festival.

Their adventures have taken them far beyond Canada — from busking across Europe to touring extensively through Latin America in a psychedelically painted RV. They also created a documentary in Brazil centered on the struggle of the Kayapo people to protect their land in the Amazon. It’s been a wild and inspiring ride — and they’re just getting started.

Like all good stories, this is a story rooted in love.

The seeds of this story were planted way back in the 1970's, when I, Lalita, moved to Kaleden and met the Hayter family. As a youth I would love, laugh, dance, sing, and play on these lands with the Hayter cousins Kris and Myron, eating Grandma Hayters cinnamon toast after school. This family would take over my heart.

Life would happen and we would lose the Hayter cousins at a young age. Grief would move my feet to travel, but eventually these feet would bring me back home to raise my own family.

To return a lifetime later to these lands and these beautiful people completes a circle in my life, full bloom.

It is my honor to be given the opportunity to operate Frog City Cafe with my husband and hold space for love, laughter, dancing, singing, and playing.

This is a love story. This is Frog City Cafe.
