About the Comedians
Max Sheldrick
Max Sheldrick got his start in the Windsor and Detroit comedy scenes, where he then toured the tri-state area, quickly becoming known as one of the top up-and-coming comics. In 2017, he moved to Toronto, where he has continued to make a solid name and reputation for himself. He’s opened for Colin Mochrie, Stavros Halkias, and Gianmarco Soresi. He has performed at the Brewing for Comedy Festival, Rusty Nail Comedy Festival, Cottage Comedy Festival, Toronto Comedy Festival, Haymaker Festival, and the Just For Laughs Toronto festival.
Laurie Elliott
Laurie Elliott is an award-winning stand-up comic, actor, writer, and Juno nominee. A four-time winner of the Best Female Stand-Up at the Canadian Comedy Awards and recipient of the Tim Sims Encouragement Fund Award, Laurie’s comedic brilliance has taken her around the world.
Her stand-up credits include Just For Laughs (where Joan Rivers personally selected her for her final Gala), the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, the Comedy Factory in Rotterdam, Raw Comedy Club in Stockholm, the SheDot Comedy Festival in Toronto, and the Cape Town International Comedy Festival.
On screen, Laurie is known for her recurring roles and appearances on Video on Trial, The Red Green Show (as Harold’s wife!), The Jon Dore Television Show, Match Game, and The Debaters. Her voice can be heard in beloved animated series like Total Drama Island, Scaredy Squirrel, and Camp Lakebottom. She’s also written for hit shows including Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Rocket Monkeys, and My Babysitter’s a Vampire. Laurie recently opened for comedy legend Arsenio Hall—and he was a delight!
