The Spring Songwriter Series continues with round two of this three-part Friday Night Sessions lineup—an evening built around original music, shared stories, and a true listening-room experience.
This songwriter-in-the-round format brings three artists together on one stage, taking turns performing and offering insight into their songs as the night unfolds.
April 24 features:
Anddre Mafra
Brazilian-Canadian artist Anddre Mafra brings a genre-blending approach to songwriting, weaving indie-folk, alternative, and Latin American influences into his music. His debut album Interior is a bilingual exploration of identity and emotion, touching on grief, love, acceptance, and joy. Written and produced entirely by Mafra, the project includes tracks like “Rockstar” and “Amar Demais,” along with collaborations with multinational Canadian artists. Mafra has performed across Canada and Brazil, sharing stages with Andy Shauf, Saveria, and Terno Rei, and has received recognition including a 2025 Forest City London Music Awards nomination and Brazil’s Aldir Blanc prize.
Wild Waters
Wild Waters harkens from a childhood filled with musicians. Raised on the likes of The Beatles, The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac…she grew her own unique sound with the spark coming from harmonies of decades past.
Performing at all kinds of venues and events over the last few years, Wild Waters shares her folk-jazz sounds in hopes to bring warmth to the dark spots.
Mimi Dominique
Toronto-based folk singer-songwriter Mimi Dominique draws on her background in theatre and storytelling to shape her music. As the daughter of two actors, she brings a strong sense of narrative and presence to the stage. A 2025 participant in Folk Canada’s Developing Artist Program, Mimi has performed across the country and is set to release her debut album this summer. Her songs lean into the tradition of honest storytelling, connecting people through shared experiences.
