Join us at The Bunker Performance Lounge & Café for a Saturday Night Live show with Asthma Kids, a genre-defying collective that’s as much a movement as it is a band. Known for their raw, unfiltered artistic energy, Asthma Kids invite audiences to break free from the mundane and join their creative rebellion.
Led by Trevor W Hutchinson (Big Eddy, Trailer Park 5, Pardon Beggars) and co-chaired by JP Gill, the band blends influences from freak-country and singer-songwriter confessionalism to post-pop and punk. Their acoustic duo set at The Bunker will feature songs from their upcoming album The Meek Are Getting Ready, including their single “Die on This Hill (The Meek Are Getting Ready Pt II)”, mixed at the legendary Abbey Road Studios and already receiving international airplay.
Asthma Kids have been twice semi-finalists in the International Songwriting Competition (in comedy and Americana categories) and were the only Canadian band selected for the UK punk label Dammit Records’ Dam-Nations compilation. Whether playing angry power pop, alien-themed alt-country, or stripped-down acoustic sets, they bring the same DIY ethos and message: everything is political, and every choice matters.
