Whether it's a foot-stomping groove or a laid-back shuffle, Payne’s music dives deep into real-world stories: from hard truths about social injustice to reflections on love, memory, and human resilience.
Known for his work with Celtic-Roots band Rant Maggie Rant and collaborations with some of Canada’s finest musicians, Payne brings decades of performance experience and songwriting craft to the stage. His 2009 album nadir has received international acclaim for its lyrical depth and musical integrity.
