Join us at The Bunker Performance Lounge & Cafe for an evening of Americana and folk with two seasoned songwriters sharing the stage.
Kim Beggs brings clear-eyed songs from the heart of the Yukon. A celebrated Yukon singer-songwriter, she creates compelling, melodic songs rooted in humanity and a strong sense of place. Her ethereal voice carries stories of loneliness, vice, love, death, uncertainty, and resilience. Across seven solo albums, Beggs has developed a distinctive songbook that faces darkness honestly while holding space for warmth, hope, and humour, and her performances form an intimate connection with audiences, balancing difficult truths with thoughtful storytelling and the occasional between-song giggle. Accompanied by acoustic guitar and a stomp board, she creates a warm, backwoods pulse that places her voice and lyrics at the centre, blending new material and longtime favourites into something deeply Northern and universally human.
Barry James Payne is Americana to the bone, Canadiana in the heart and soul. A Stratford-based Canadian singer-songwriter, he brings more than four decades of experience across stages, studios, and the music business. He began as a drummer before turning to guitar and songwriting, performing with London's Everest and Vancouver's Linear-B, and later worked in promotion and record distribution, founding BangOn Press Relief and BangOn Records. Payne also spent 12 years with Celtic fusion group Rant Maggie Rant, touring Canada, writing original material, and producing the band's final two albums. His releases, including nadir and Love & Highways, explore relationships, loss, resilience, and difficult truths, delivering songs shaped by a lifetime of music, detours, and persistence.
Grab a table, order up a cocktail and some hot apps, and settle in for a night of Americana and folk at the Bunker.
