About James Gordon:
James Gordon has made a significant impact in the Canadian cultural sector through his multifaceted career. As a solo singer-songwriter and as a member of the pioneering trio Tamarack, James has recorded 40 albums and toured extensively worldwide. His contributions extend beyond music into symphony orchestras, musical theatre, dance works, and film scores. For over a decade, he was a regular presence on CBC radio, serving as songwriter-in-residence for the ‘Basic Black’ and ‘Ontario Morning’ programs.
Between his tours, James wears many hats: record producer, playwright, community activist, and theatre director. He also serves as a part-time Guelph City Councillor. Recently, he gained attention for his viral internet hit “Crybabies Caravan,” which sparked widespread discussion about the ‘Freedom Convoy’ in Ottawa, amassing over 300,000 views.
James’s "Rhyme Capsules" program has taken him worldwide, helping students of all ages create songs and earning him a place of honor on the “Wall of Fame” at Guelph’s Youth Music Centre.
