Description

Adult Acting Workshop with Tanner Efinger

One of the biggest traps actors fall into is focusing too much on figuring out what their character is feeling and how to create that authentically. But what if we've been thinking about emotions all wrong?

Drawing on emerging research in neuroscience and our evolving understanding of how emotions work, this three-week workshop challenges traditional approaches to emotional acting. What exactly are emotions? Where do they come from? And how can we harness, ignore, or even fight against them to create more truthful and compelling performances?

Through practical exercises, partner work, and scene study, participants will explore the relationship between emotion, thought, behavior, and action, discovering new ways to approach their craft without getting trapped in the pursuit of a particular feeling.

Designed for actors looking to deepen their craft, challenge their assumptions, and experiment in a supportive, collaborative environment.
