This is the First XMas Tree Burn

All participants will be strongly encouraged to turn in a dead evergreen tree in order to participate in the event.

There will be many tree burns, but one large tree effigy burn on Saturday night.

Here’s the pitch: I am a transbian PhD student who had the idea of organizing a burn around burning xmas trees because why not steal fuel from the carcass of monetized holiday. At the end of the day, this is a queer (read: welcome to all gay, bi, ace, strange, ineffable, straight, questioning, trans, non-binary, etc.) decomp for all the bs that’s been happening politically and otherwise.

Let’s create a tradition that bids farewell to Winter, ushers in the Spring, and marks the beginning of Summer. Let’s make space for everyone to decompress from recused spaces. Come defrost yourselves, mingle, exchange ideas, and dream together.

Let’s gather by the fire of pagan trees to envision new ways of co-existing.
