The Gathering Sessions: Still Life Painting in the Style of the Dutch Masters
with Sara Woster, artist and founder of The Painting School
In this richly textured, hands-on session, artist Sara Woster invites you to explore the dramatic beauty of Dutch Golden Age still life painting. Using moody, luminous tones inspired by masters like Frans Hals and Vermeer, you'll create your own homage to fruit and flora with gentle, step-by-step guidance.
Whether you're new to painting or a lifelong artist, this class welcomes all experience levels. All materials are provided; just bring your curiosity and love for creative expression.
Workshops are held at communal tables, offering a welcoming, shared creative space to gather, create, and connect.
Event cost is $25+tax. All materials are included - includes 11" x 14" canvas and acrylic paint. With three sessions to choose from: 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM, and 3:00 PM, each workshop runs 45 minutes. Kindly arrive 15 minutes before your registered time for check-in.
Workshops are recommended for ages 13+. Guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
The sessions will take place in the Galleria atrium located near Pottery Barn.
Sara Woster is a painter, writer, and founder of The Painting School in Brooklyn, where she shares her passion for accessible, joyful art-making. She is the author of Painting Can Save Your Life, a memoir and creative guide that encourages readers to embrace the healing power of painting. Sara has exhibited her work across the U.S. and internationally, illustrated several children’s books, and created multimedia works shown at venues including the Hammer Museum and Franklin Art Works.
