Description

A solo show from the Gay Uncle who makes sense of the world via pop culture, children’s stories, cats and dogs and laughter. This time around he finds himself in a world of extreme weight loss, a rediscovery of youthful energy and a crazy pandemic that starts with a fall and continues through a near-psychedelic collision of Lewis Carroll, whipped cream, Bob Dylan, left-handedness, kitchen dance parties for one, gender, Sammy Davis Junior and a scrambling of time and space, numbers and growing curiouser and curiouser.

Artist Bio:

Jeffrey Robert, The Gay Uncle, is back, this time as an Arizona resident with a new body and facial hair and new stories to help find meaning and laughter in this shared Wonderland of bewilderment, awe, laughter and food. He sees himself as a humorist, artist, storyteller and Cat and Dog Daddy but really he just likes to engage with magical smoke while watching The View and The Criterion Channel with endless bowls of popcorn while covered in animal fur. He loves the color orange, ylang ylang, Saguaros and animals. He is left-handed.

Tucson Fringe Festival

The Tucson Fringe Festival is an unjuried, uncensored performing arts festival. Following international fringe tenets, the festival provides artists with low-risk, low-cost opportunities to perform by using economies of scale to reduce venue rental costs and by taking 0% of the artist’s earnings. Additionally, the festival also provides the Tucson arts community with avant-garde, non-traditional performing arts at very low ticket prices. Finally, the festival does not curate or select the performances, maintaining an environment in which everyone and anyone can perform. This ensures that underrepresented artistic voices are championed in our community.
