The Gia Maione Prima Foundation presents a free screening of the documentary film "Louis Prima: The Wildest" on its 25th anniversary. Joe Lauro and director Don McGlynn will be on hand after the screening for a Q&A. Please note, there is a free jazz concert on the Broadside porch from 6-8pm. The film start promptly at 7:30pm

About the film:
This lively documentary looks at the life of renowned pop/jazz performer Louis Prima. Revisiting Prima's Italian-American upbringing in New Orleans, the film follows the singer and trumpeter's musical career, which shifted from jazz and swing to more accessible pop. During each phase of Prima's decades-long artistic run, his music was defined by his boisterous persona, endearing him to a legion of fans. Among those interviewed are family members and a number of his musical peers.

  • The showtime listed for the event is the time the event starts. Doors will generally open an hour before the listed show time unless otherwise listed.
      We allow pets during the day, but not at night for music (anything after 7pm). Service animals are always allowed.
     
  •  Please do not park in the Broad Theater parking lot. We have a parking lot for  The Broadside and plenty street parking available on Toulouse and Lafitte. If you would like to be escorted to your car, please ask the Sheriff on duty. You may also park in the Auto Zone parking lot if they are closed. 
  •  We have a variety of seating options such as benches, picnic tables, chairs, and stools. You are welcome to bring your own chairs, if you require a seat for health reasons or disability, please ask a staff member and they can provide you with a chair.
