Theatre Performances
Green - A Shadow Puppet Performance by Lindsey Ball
Green is a shadow puppet piece done on an overhead projector that explores the color green through memory, science, and history. It begins with a personal anecdote which leads to a brief history of the mineral jade, and then a more general scientific study of the color green (how our eyes process it, how we've evolved to understand it, and how the color may make us feel more relaxed). The piece, however, is at its core, a love story. Interwoven throughout you will hear bits and pieces of a prior romantic relationship intermingling with scientific & historical fact. As you learn more about the color green, so too you learn about this relationship - and what it means to move forward while also looking back.
