Description
Since the year 2000, The Grilled Lincolns have been making a blend of music built on a foundation of rock, informed by hip-hop and funk, and sprinkled with elements of everything else that catches their attention, from comedy to Go-Go music.
Guitarist and singer Riddie Becker came up in the tradition of the blues-based rock and roll guitar god, striving to emulate the skill of Hendrix’s solos and Stevie Ray Vaughn’s cadence. Becker’s chops shine in the band’s unpretentious rock songs, but also during improvised jam sessions when he’s backed up by bassist/guitarist Mike Bakke and percussionist Andy Hall. Both have honed their craft as rap lyricists and are capable of freestyling in a range of flows and styles, stringing together observations and punchlines about any topic that comes to mind. Bassist Ben Gilbert and drummer Kevin Shook are the backbone of the band, keeping the rhythm rocking, fun and funky.
The G-Linx have shared the stage with some of the bands that have influenced them the most, including The Roots, George Clinton, Chuck Brown, Method Man and Redman, Slick Rick, Wax, and Souls of Mischief.
The band is part of a rich musical community based around Annapolis, Maryland that punches above its weight in terms of skill and creative output. Bumpin Uglies, Higher Hands, Pressing Strings, and Joey Harkum are all frequent collaborators from the stage to the studio.
Joining The Grilled Lincolns is Kavoossi, an energetic homage to the days of rock and roll when melody and harmony ruled the airwaves. Kavoossi is repainting the picture of what it means to be a modern day Indie-Rock artist. Setting foot out of Annapolis, MD, the four-piece rock group continues to bring Charles Kavoossi's compositions to life along the East Coast and across the US.
While proudly donning the badge of "90s-rock revivalists," Kavoossi shimmers with the pop-sensibility of artists like Weezer and Fastball while simultaneously reinventing the wheel just as bands like Cake and The Strokes have transformed what we, today, can call "rock." A ticket to the show will get you a stellar live performance as well as an earworm to take home for the weekend, and maybe some cool merch too.
Cult Classic Brewing Company is your new spot for cold drinks, fresh food and good times. We've got 15+ beers brewed in house on tap, fresh handmade pizzas with from-scratch dough, hand-pattied burgers, jumbo wings, pub far and more.
General admission (standing) is $25 per person.
Reserved seating (seated) is $35 per person.
