Description

CASE Consultants International in collaboration with the Asheville Museum of Science (AMOS) presents a screening of The Hunt for Planet B at the Collider, in downtown Asheville, NC.

Join us at 2 p.m. on October 1st

This special event is sponsored by ASRC Federal. We are pleased to announce that two ASRC Federal team members, Chris Gunn, a James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) Photographer, and Peter Sooy, the JWST Outreach Lead, are joining to share personal stories and answer questions.

AMOS is located in the heart of downtown Asheville, where it hosts special events and educational programs in addition to permanent and traveling exhibits and displays. The exhibits in AMOS explore the connections between astronomy, geology, weather, climate, ecology, and paleontology to form the beautiful landscape we call home.

About the film:

The Hunt for Planet B captures the human drama behind NASA's high-stakes Webb Telescope which launched on December 25, 2021. The film interweaves the creation of this massive machine - the most ambitious space observatory ever built - with the story of a pioneering group of female scientists on a quest to find life beyond our solar system.

Considered by NASA to be the “scientific successor” to the Hubble Space Telescope, Webb is 100 times more powerful than Hubble, journeying towards an orbit one million miles away from Earth.
