With humble beginnings, our team at ICBH started as a backyard passion project. Matt Whitney, Mike Barker, Craig Brodie and Kyle Blandford started brewing on a wood-fired, old world brewing system.
The days spent brewing, and of course, enjoying the finished product, often included discussion about what their dream brewery would look like. Over time, this dream came together; pen met paper, paper turned into hands-on labour. Our team, alongside the skilled tradespeople of Sarnia, built what is now Imperial City Brew House at 1330 Exmouth St. The team adopted Sarnia’s nickname of the “The Imperial City”, a nod to Sarnia’s regal history.
