Historic Rock Ford welcomes the Jane Austen Playlist as they present "Love and Music of Regency England." Experience the music that Jane Austen played and loved in a sparkling performance that includes dramatized narrations from her beloved novels.
The program, featuring music from the Austen Family Music Books, offers a glimpse into the mind of thisfavorite author as she penned her beloved works. There are examples of tender love, ofunrequited love, of fickle love, of ‘a fine, stout, healthy love,’ a ‘slight, thin sort of inclination’(although, don’t worry, the only good sonnets starving it away will be those of Mr.Willoughby), and finally, of triumphant love.In addition to Jane's passion for writing, she also loved music. All of Jane's literary output, from her letters to her novel’s colorful scenes, expresses music's role in her life.Accomplishment in music by young ladies in Regency England is discussed in the backdropsof the Netherfield drawing room, displayed in the Cole's music room, and delighted in at SirJohn Middleton's gatherings.
This performance will be presented on the piazza of the Hand Mansion with seating on the lawn.
Concessions will be available for purchase.
