Under the sea, a young mermaid named Ariel dreams of life on land. Her grotto is filled with treasures from shipwrecks, symbols of her longing to explore the world above. During a storm, Ariel rescues Prince Eric, pulling him to safety. He wakes to the sound of her beautiful voice, but before they can meet, Ariel must retreat into the ocean, leaving her heart behind. Determined to be with him, Ariel makes a dangerous deal with Ursula, the sea witch, to exchange her voice for legs so she can walk on land. But if she fails to win Eric’s love within three days, her soul will belong to Ursula forever.
Ariel embarks on her quest with the help of loyal friends Flounder, Scuttle, and Sebastian. But Ursula, with her magic, tries to sabotage their love. With time running out, King Triton sacrifices his power to save Ariel, and she defeats Ursula by destroying her magic shell. Seeing Ariel’s sacrifice, King Triton grants her the chance to become human. With Ariel's dream finally realized, she steps onto the shore to begin a new life with Eric, surrounded by those who now see the beauty of both the sea and the land. Ariel’s journey of love, sacrifice, and magic finds its happy ending—one full of hope and new beginnings.
