THE MANHATTAN PROJECT

Playing Thursday, September 11th at 2pm and 7pm!

The Manhattan Project (2022) is a Canadian dark comedy-drama directed and co-written by Matthew Campanile, alongside Mark Chylinski. Starring Terry Novak as Bob Bevenah, Francesco Filice as Tom Bevenah, and Len Greenaway as Bill, the film follows a small-town cocktail enthusiast who has been diagnosed with a terminal illness and decides to face his final days on his own terms. Set against the wintry beauty of Southern Ontario’s Madawaska Valley, the story blends wry humour with deep emotional resonance, exploring how Bob’s decision ripples through his relationships, especially with his son.

At just 85 minutes, this indie gem distills its themes with sharp focus - balancing moments of levity with heartfelt reflection. Terry Novak’s performance anchors the film with both tenderness and bite, while the quiet authenticity of the small-town setting lends a grounded charm that stays with you. The Manhattan Project is a must-see for fans of independent cinema who appreciate bold emotional honesty, nuanced storytelling, and the rare ability to make you laugh and yearn in the same breath.

This film is extra special because it was filmed in Maynooth and features an ensemble of recognizable locals...so come out and support your neighbours!
