Share Festival Ballet Virginia is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, high quality, pre-professional dance company dedicated to inspiring excellence and infusing passion in dancers and audience members. Festival Ballet Virginia provides the important performing experience necessary to complete our dancers' education. Membership in Festival Ballet Virginia is by audition held each spring. In addition to their class commitment, dancers in Festival Ballet Virginia participate in Performance Workshop classes where they work on choreography, rehearse, and master the techniques necessary for performing.
An important component of Festival Ballet Virginia is an extensive educational approach, providing educational and entertaining outreach programs to our service area schools, through special student performances and through lecture demonstrations designed to introduce children to the art of dance.

Join us for the exciting holiday tradition of The Nutcracker Ballet. We are excited to present the full-length version of the Nutcracker ballet featuring Tchaikovsky's complete score. Follow Clara and her Nutcracker Prince as they travel through the Land of the Snowflakes and on to the Kingdom of the Sugar Plum Fairy where all of the sweets come to life. The run time of the show is two hours with one intermission. Lap-sitters under age 2 may attend for free.
While at the show, visit our unique holiday boutique to get a jump-start on your holiday shopping. The boutique - featuring ornaments, nutcrackers, handmade items, stocking stuffers, jewelry, books, toys, a raffle, and a large variety of sweets - will be open prior to and after the performance, as well as during intermission. Come early for the best selection! All proceeds benefit Festival Ballet Virginia.
VIP Experience (SATURDAY ONLY): For an extra $5 per person, you can become a VIP audience member! VIP members are invited to return to the theater 10 min after each SATURDAY show ends for a special Question & Answer session with FBV's artistic director and featured performers. Next, VIP members will get an opportunity to come up on stage to take photos with various featured performers and take a peek backstage. It's a fun chance to see the costumes and props up close! The VIP experience will last approximately 20-30 minutes. This is a great opportunity for scout groups and theater lovers especially! Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
We offer special pricing and perks for Scout and homeschool groups of 10 or more (leaders/families included). Plus, each Scout will receive a special Nutcracker patch! (Note: While we sadly cannot offer the full VIP Experience for our Friday night show, we will happily help facilitate a photo session for your troop with various featured performers from the cast.
