The Oots N Oots are a family that makes music for families. The band includes 15-year-old Ruthie Cipes with her dad Ez and uncles Ari, Gabe, and Matthew, all living in Kelowna, BC, Canada .In performance, the Oots’ all analogue, all-ages rock show casts a spell of freedom, lightheartedness, and laughter with music that draws on the wide history of rock n’ roll. This is truly entertainment for the whole family, bringing joy, community, and understanding through the free-spirited musical performance of songs by turns wise and absurd.
The band has appeared at numerous festivals including the Philadelphia Folk Festival and has been honoured on “best of lists” and with awards and nominations in Canada, the USA, and Australia. They were named “Children’s Artist of the Year” at the 2022 Western Canadian Music Awards and their third album, Ponderosa Bunchgrass and the Golden Rule, was nominated for “Children’s Album of the Year” at the 2022 Juno Awards.
The Oot n’ Oots are now back in the studio recording their fourth album and looking forward to festival season 2023.
