What happens when a down-on-their-luck drama club attempts to put on a murder mystery — and absolutely everything that can go wrong, does? The Play That Goes Wrong: High School Edition follows the hilariously hapless Cornley Drama Society as they tackle The Murder at Haversham Manor, only to be undone at every turn by collapsing sets, missed cues, forgotten lines, and actors who may not quite be up to the task. Equal parts slapstick and wit, this award-winning comedy is a love letter to live theatre — and to everyone who has ever had the courage to step on a stage.
This production holds a special place in Legacy Theatre history, as it will be our final show on our current stage — a space that has been home to hundreds of productions across more than 30 years. We warmly invite the entire Legacy community, and especially our alumni who have been part of this program, to come back and help us close this chapter the way it deserves: with a full house, a lot of laughter, and one last standing ovation around this beloved stage.
