THE PURE OF HEART is a hilarious situation farce which takes as its value the moral hypocrisy which places adultery far higher up the ladder of iniquity than cold-blooded murder. Keane has created a memorable piece of theatre using a simple roadside setting, a June night—the summer solstice in the Irish countryside, and three characters as varied in their attitudes to life and love as one could possibly imagine…and with a devilish touch of the fairy world to anchor the temptations. In this short play, Keane has written dialogue that sparkles ‘as a glowworm on a June night.’ And, don’t ya know,…..stuff happens! Directed by John Ammerman.
