Lindy Hop is the visual expression of Jazz music. Our daytime workshops will focus on giving you the skills you need to level up your dancing game through connecting to the music. you can then put it into practice with a beginner Jitterbug lesson and social dance in the evening.
SCHEDULE
9:30 am - Check-In
10:00 - 11:00 am - Solo Jazz (Together!)
Start visualizing the music! This solo class will explore some basic solo jazz steps and how to use them with a partner, or a group.
11:15 am - 12:15 pm - Feeling the (Blue) Pulse
The core of Jazz music is the Pulse. This workshop will use the blues idiom, to help you strengthen your connection to this foundation.
Lunch
1:30 pm - 2:30 pm- (Jazzy) Swing-outs
Let's take it back to the basic and see the Jazz!
2:45 pm - 3:45 pm - Up-Up-Down-Down-Left-Right-Left-Right-B-A (START!)
Most Jazz dance music comes in phrases. This lesson will help you hear them, a play with using them in your patterns. It's like a cheat code for dance!.
