Description
A.J. and Colescott Rubin are Portland-raised musicians, vaudevillian entertainers, and jazz clowns who make smiles wherever they go, performing swing, blues, & popular songs of yesteryear with a lighthearted energy and danceable beat. Now based in Boston, they are student and staff, respectively, at Berklee College of Music. They have performed across the country and internationally, and have performed and/or recorded with Esperanza Spalding, John Legend, Patrice Rushen, Catherine Russell, Charmaine Neville, and others. Last year, they were given the Boston Opportunity Fund Award by the City of Boston to support their artistic careers. In NYC this spring, their debut recording was produced on all pre-1930s recording equipment. Known internationally for unicycling and juggling while playing instruments.
