Dine with Making Waves Film Festival and Portsmouth City of Sanctuary at All Saints Church on Saturday 23rd March and enjoy a cinematic dining experience. Celebrate Ramadan with us and break the fast (Iftar) while watching Abdellatif Kechiche’s award winning ‘The Secret of the Grain’ (2007). This exclusive community curated event includes an authentic North African meal cooked by refugees working with Kitchen of Hope.

‘The Secret of the Grain’ (2007) is a cinematic gem that resonates with Portsmouth's rich cultural tapestry. The film, set in southern France, tells the story of a Franco-Arabic shipyard worker, who along with his partner's daughter, pursues his dream of opening a restaurant. This 2007 masterpiece weaves a tale of generational dreams and culinary passion, mirroring our own community's diverse heritage and the universal quest for belonging.

Whilst the film screening is free, a £10 donation to Kitchen of Hope is required upon booking to secure your seat for the dining experience. This is a fundraising event for Portsmouth City of Sanctuary as well as a celebration of community, culture and the incredible work of the charity, Kitchen of Hope

To respect those participating in Ramadan, this will be an alcohol-free event.

Tickets: Free with a £10 donation per person or £50 donation for 1 table (of 5).
