Think NPR-style curiosity, casual community vibes, and real-time interaction. With drinks.
This month, AI is everywhere right now… in the news, on your phone, and influencing your life every day via the recommendations you receive from Netflix, Google, Meta. AI is having a very real impact on everything from mental health, to the fundamental fabric of society.. and it’s only accelerating. AI is moving beyond chatbots and into the physical world as massive datacenters strain power grids, and researchers start merging AI with robotics. We’ll talk about how regular people are putting it to work in practical, everyday ways, and what that means for jobs, creativity, and daily life. The goal isn’t to impress you with buzzwords, it’s to leave you feeling like you understand how to think about AI and how it affects you.
Speaker Bio: Scott Laughlin is a Cincinnati-based AI Consultant and Electrical Engineer who spends his days helping people figure out how to use AI effectively. He has been named inventor on 27 patent papers, leads AI community talks, and has been deep in the tech world long enough to know when something is real versus overhyped. When he’s not building AI systems, you can find him training for Spartan races or perfecting his latte art.
